On Saturday the 30th of April a series of events is being held in Plymouth. Between 11:00 and 18:00 There are campaign stalls, music and film in the university's Roland Levinsky Building (the big brown one opposite the Drake's Circus car park).

From midday a march will set off from the Guildhall, head up through the city and rally in the Roland Levinsky Building. John McDonnell MP will be speaking from 13:00.

The event is organised by Plymouth Trades Council and Plymouth Fightback Against the Cuts.

The Plymouth Morning Star Supporters Group will have a stall at the event, as will the South Devon CPB. Join us on the march and come to the rally. Support the Star and support the alternative in Plymouth!



The Communist Party of Britain has called for a “no” vote in the referendum on AV. In March the Political Committee adopted a policy paper explaining why that decision was taken. In this article I will attempt to develop some of the arguments in that paper and combat some of the myths perpetuated by the left wing “yes” and right wing “no” campaigns.
